When a payment transaction fails or a saved card is declined on MyTradesShop, our automated system temporarily pauses lead purchasing on your profile. This safeguard prevents compounding charge fees and keeps your account status clear until the issue is resolved.
Primary Reasons for Payment Failures
Card processing errors typically fall into one of four distinct categories:
1. Bank or Card Issuer Declines
For strict consumer privacy and banking security regulations, card issuers do not share the exact underlying reason for a decline with MyTradesShop. Only you, as the authorized cardholder, can obtain specific details directly from your bank.
Common triggers for issuer declines include:
- Suspected Fraud Safeguards: Your bank flagged an automated online purchase as unusual activity.
- Merchant Restrictions: Card settings or account types (e.g., specific corporate spending limits) restrict digital lead purchases.
- Incorrect Details: The CVV code, cardholder name, or billing address entered on your profile doesn't match bank records.
- Lost or Stolen Status: The card has been replaced or reported lost/stolen.
Resolution Tip: Calling the customer service number on the back of your card is the fastest way to identify the decline reason and authorize future MyTradesShop transactions.
2. Insufficient Funds
An insufficient funds error indicates that the bank rejected the transaction because the account balance or available credit limit is less than the lead or credit bundle purchase cost. To clear this error, transfer sufficient funds to the account or switch your primary card in your Billing Dashboard.
3. Expired Payment Credentials
If your card has reached or passed its expiration date, automated processing will fail. You must add an active replacement card to resume purchasing job leads. Visit our Payment Methods Portal to register your new card details.
4. Hourly Retry Limit Exceeded (3 Failed Attempts)
To prevent fraudulent activity and protect your card against brute-force errors, our security systems enforce a strict rate limit: a single card is restricted after 3 consecutive failed processing attempts within one hour.
If you hit this threshold, please wait 60 minutes before retrying. Repeatedly attempting transactions on a declined card can cause your issuing bank to place a permanent block on payments to MyTradesShop.
How to Restore Your Account Status
- Verify that your bank account balance covers the purchase amount.
- Check that your billing address matches your current card statement address.
- Add an alternative debit or credit card as your primary payment option.
- If issues persist after confirming details with your bank, submit a support ticket to our accounts team for direct assistance.
